Ingredients
Method
- In a shallow bowl, whisk the egg, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla bean paste until smooth.
- Dip each slice of bread into the custard, coating both sides, then lift and let excess drip back into the bowl.
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F.
- Lightly grease the air fryer basket with a small swipe of the butter.
- Place the bread slices in the basket in a single layer with space between them.
- Air fry for 3 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Serve immediately with the remaining butter and maple syrup if using.
Notes
- Dip each side of the bread for 10 to 15 seconds, then let it drip for a couple seconds to prevent a gummy center.
- If the toast looks pale after 3 minutes, cook 30 seconds longer; if your air fryer browns unevenly, flip at 1 minute 30 seconds.
- Rest the toast on a plate for 30 seconds before topping to keep the edges crisp.
