Ingredients
Method
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F.
- Core the apples and slice into even 1/2 inch wedges.
- Toss apple wedges in a bowl with melted butter, sweetener, cinnamon, vanilla, salt, and whey protein until evenly coated.
- Let the bowl rest for 2 minutes.
- Arrange apples in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Air fry for 12 minutes, shaking the basket at the 6 minute mark.
- Rest apples on a plate for 3 minutes, then serve warm.
Notes
- Keep slices the same thickness so they finish together.
- If the coating looks sticky, line the basket with parchment made for air fryers.
- For deeper browning, cook 1 minute longer and watch closely to avoid bitter sweetener.
- For make ahead, slice apples up to 24 hours ahead and store airtight with 1 tsp lemon juice; toss with coating right before cooking.
