  • 1 slice Fresh bread (White or whole grain)
  • 1 tablespoon Butter (Or cooking spray) Use for crisping the bread.
  • 1 ounce Cheddar cheese (or mozzarella/pepper jack) Choose your preferred cheese.
  • 1 Egg Egg (or egg whites) Adjust to preference.
  • Veggies (like spinach or tomatoes) Thinly sliced to avoid sogginess.
  • Parchment liners To keep the air fryer clean.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Lightly butter one side of the bread, aiming for a thin, even layer.
  2. Place a parchment liner in the air fryer basket and set the bread (buttered side down) on top.
  3. Scatter the grated or thinly sliced cheddar over the top of the bread, leaving a small ring clear around the edge.
  4. Add thinly sliced veggies on top of the cheese.
  5. Crack the egg into the center well of the cheese.
  6. Slide the prepared toast into the air fryer basket in a single layer.
Cooking
  1. Cook until the egg white is opaque and the cheddar is melted with tiny browned spots.
  2. Carefully lift the parchment and transfer the toast to a plate.
  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, use thinly sliced or wilted vegetables, maintain a cheese rim around the egg, and watch for visual cues rather than time when cooking.
