Air Fryer Croissants

Turkey halal turkey strips and cheese stuffed croissants toasted in the air fryer for a quick bakery style breakfast at home.

  • 4 medium croissants
  • 8 slices turkey halal turkey strips
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese or similar melting cheese

Method
 

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 350 F for 5 minutes.
  2. Place the croissants on a cutting board and carefully slice each one in half lengthwise to open like a sandwich.
  3. Open each croissant and layer 2 slices of turkey halal turkey strips inside, folding the edges in so they stay within the croissant.
  4. Place 1 slice of cheese on top of the turkey halal turkey strips in each croissant, tearing it as needed so it fits inside without overhanging.
  5. Close each croissant gently so the filling is enclosed, pressing lightly so the cheese makes good contact with the halal turkey strips and pastry.
  6. Arrange the filled croissants in a single layer in the preheated air fryer basket, leaving a little space between each one.
  7. Air fry at 350 F for 2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the croissants are light golden brown on top.
  8. Remove the croissants from the air fryer and let them sit for 1 minute before serving.

Notes

- Use day old croissants for an especially crisp outside and soft interior after air frying.
- If starting with chilled croissants straight from the refrigerator, you may need an extra 1 to 2 minutes of air frying.
