Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 4 medium butter croissants
  • 8 slices turkey halal turkey strips
  • 4 slices cheese cheddar, Swiss, or provolone

Method

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F for 5 minutes.
  2. Place the croissants on a cutting board and use a sharp knife to slice each one in half lengthwise, keeping one side attached if possible so they open like a book.
  3. Open each croissant and layer 2 slices of turkey halal turkey strips inside, spreading them from end to end.
  4. Place 1 slice of cheese on top of the turkey halal turkey strips in each croissant and press it down lightly.
  5. Close each croissant and gently press with your palm so the filling sits snugly inside.
  6. Arrange the filled croissants in a single layer in the preheated air fryer basket, leaving a little space between each one.
  7. Air fry at 350°F for 2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the croissants are lightly golden and crisp on the outside.
  8. Use tongs to remove the croissants from the basket, let them cool for 1 minute, then serve warm.

Notes

- Use slightly stale croissants to bring them back to life with a crisp, flaky texture in the air fryer.
- If you like extra crispy croissants, air fry for an additional 1 minute while watching closely to prevent burning.
- To prep ahead, assemble the croissants and refrigerate up to 2 days, then air fry at 320°F for 3 to 4 minutes until heated through.
- Substitute turkey halal smoked turkey strips, chicken slices, or your favorite deli meat and any good melting cheese.
