Ingredients
Method
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F for 5 minutes.
- Place the croissants on a cutting board and use a sharp knife to slice each one in half lengthwise, keeping one side attached if possible so they open like a book.
- Open each croissant and layer 2 slices of turkey halal turkey strips inside, spreading them from end to end.
- Place 1 slice of cheese on top of the turkey halal turkey strips in each croissant and press it down lightly.
- Close each croissant and gently press with your palm so the filling sits snugly inside.
- Arrange the filled croissants in a single layer in the preheated air fryer basket, leaving a little space between each one.
- Air fry at 350°F for 2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the croissants are lightly golden and crisp on the outside.
- Use tongs to remove the croissants from the basket, let them cool for 1 minute, then serve warm.
Notes
- Use slightly stale croissants to bring them back to life with a crisp, flaky texture in the air fryer.
- If you like extra crispy croissants, air fry for an additional 1 minute while watching closely to prevent burning.
- To prep ahead, assemble the croissants and refrigerate up to 2 days, then air fry at 320°F for 3 to 4 minutes until heated through.
- Substitute turkey halal smoked turkey strips, chicken slices, or your favorite deli meat and any good melting cheese.
