Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 pound large raw shrimp peeled and deveined, tails on or off
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 lemon cut into wedges
  • Cooking spray or a little extra oil for the air fryer basket

Method

  1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and place them in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add the olive oil, minced garlic, paprika, salt, and black pepper to the bowl and toss until the shrimp are evenly coated.
  3. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the seasoned shrimp and toss again so the cheese clings to the shrimp.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 5 minutes.
  5. Lightly spray or brush the air fryer basket with oil to prevent sticking.
  6. Arrange the shrimp in a single layer in the basket, leaving a little space between each piece.
  7. Air fry at 400°F for 8 to 10 minutes, shaking the basket or flipping the shrimp halfway through, until the shrimp are opaque, curled, and lightly golden with melted cheese.
  8. Transfer the shrimp immediately to a serving plate so they do not overcook in the hot basket.
  9. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve hot with lemon wedges for squeezing over the shrimp.

Notes

- For best texture, you can marinate the shrimp in the oil, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper for up to 4 hours, then add the Parmesan just before air frying.
- Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if needed so the shrimp crisp properly.
- If you prefer a touch more color, air fry for 1 extra minute, watching closely so the Parmesan does not burn.
- Serve as an appetizer or spoon over rice, pasta, or salad for a quick main dish.
