Ingredients
Method
- Preheat the air fryer to 390°F while you prepare the salmon mixture.
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the drained, flaked salmon, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper.
- Mix gently with a fork or clean hands until the ingredients are evenly combined and the mixture holds together without being wet or crumbly.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions for main dish size patties.
- Lightly oil your hands and shape each portion into a firm, even patty about 1/2 inch thick, pressing the edges so they are smooth and do not crack.
- Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray, then arrange the patties in a single layer in the basket, leaving space between each patty.
- Lightly spray the tops of the patties with cooking spray to help them brown.
- Air fry the salmon patties at 390°F for 10 to 12 minutes, flipping once halfway through, until the edges are crisp and the centers feel set when pressed gently with a spatula.
- Let the patties rest in the basket for 2 to 3 minutes, then serve hot with your favorite sides, on buns, or over salad.
Notes
- If the mixture feels too loose to form patties, add 1 tablespoon breadcrumbs and mix again until it holds together.
- If the mixture seems dry or crumbly, add 1 teaspoon mayonnaise and mix until it just comes together.
- Do not crowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if needed so the patties crisp evenly.
- You can shape the patties up to 1 day ahead and refrigerate; air fry straight from the fridge and add 1 to 2 minutes of cook time if needed.
- Reheat leftover patties in the air fryer at 350°F for 4 to 6 minutes, flipping once.
