Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 2 ripe but firm bananas
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil melted
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Method

  1. Peel the bananas and slice them into thin rounds about 1/8 inch thick.
  2. In a small bowl, stir together the granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Place the banana slices in a medium bowl and drizzle with the melted coconut oil, tossing gently to coat evenly.
  4. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the oiled banana slices and toss again until all slices are coated.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 300°F.
  6. Arrange the coated banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping.
  7. Air fry at 300°F for 15 to 18 minutes, flipping the slices halfway through cooking, until they are golden, dry to the touch, and crisp around the edges.
  8. Transfer the banana chips to a plate or rack and let them cool completely to finish crisping before serving.

Notes

- Use bananas that are ripe but still firm so they slice cleanly and hold their shape while cooking.
- For the crispiest banana chips, avoid crowding the air fryer basket and cook in batches if needed.
