Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 medium apples (fresh or frozen) Cut into fries or wedges
  • 1 cup almond flour (or regular flour) For coating
  • 1 large egg To glue the coating
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon For flavor
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional) Use if a sweeter flavor is desired
  • as needed Cooking spray or oil For frying

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the apples into 'fries' or wedges, aiming for similar thickness.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the almond flour (or regular flour), cinnamon, and sugar (if using).
  4. In a second bowl, beat the egg until smooth.
Coating and Air Frying
  1. Dip each apple slice in the egg first, letting excess drip off, then press into the flour mixture for a good coating.
  2. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray (or oil).
  3. Arrange the coated apple fries in a single layer in the basket.
  4. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crisp.
Serving
  1. Serve warm, ideally right out of the air fryer.

Notes

For best results, do not crowd the basket and watch the last 1-2 minutes of cooking. Variations include cutting apples thinner for crispier texture or skipping sugar for a less sweet snack.
