Ingredients

  • 2 cups apples, peeled and diced Choose your favorite apple variety.
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar For caramel flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Adds warmth.
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg Alternatively, use ground cloves.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Brightens the flavor.
  • 1/4 cup granola Optional for added crunch.
For the taquitos
  • 8 small flour tortillas Use small tortillas for best results.
  • cooking spray Cooking spray For even browning.
  • powdered sugar Powdered sugar for dusting Optional sweet finish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine the peeled, diced apples with the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Stir until the apples are evenly coated.
  2. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Spoon about 1-2 tablespoons of the apple mixture into the lower third of each tortilla. Roll each tightly around the filling so the seam is on the bottom.
  4. Lightly spray the taquitos with cooking spray and arrange them seam-side down in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
Cooking
  1. Air fry at 350°F for 8-10 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
  2. Dust with powdered sugar if desired and serve warm.

Notes

Store leftover taquitos in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer to maintain crispness.
