Ingredients
  

For the coating
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat) Provides crunch and browns nicely.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Adds flavor and crunch.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust to preference.
For the chicken
  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts Main protein for the dish.
  • 1 cup marinara sauce Used for topping.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Melts on top of the chicken.
  • to coat Olive oil spray Prevents sticking and encourages browning.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, plus salt and pepper.
  3. Press each chicken breast into the breadcrumb mixture until well coated.
  4. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil.
Cooking
  1. Arrange chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  2. Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden-brown and cooked through.
  3. Spoon marinara over each piece and top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  4. Air fry for an additional 2–3 minutes until the cheese is melted.
Serving
  1. Serve hot, ideally with extra warmed marinara on the side.

Notes

For best results, don't skip preheating and ensure the chicken is cooked in a single layer. Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the air fryer for optimal texture.
