Method

Preparation and Cooking
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
  2. Dry the cod really well by patting both sides with paper towels until the surface feels dry.
  3. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil over the cod and rub it over both sides.
  4. Season both sides with garlic powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne (if using). Press spices in to adhere.
  5. Place the fillets in the air fryer basket in a single layer with a little space around each one.
  6. Cook for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, until the cod has a lightly crisped, golden exterior and flakes easily.
  7. Check doneness by ensuring the thickest part of the cod reaches 145°F (63°C).
  8. Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.

Notes

Cod is best served fresh but can be stored in the fridge if there are leftovers. To reheat, use the air fryer to restore crispness.
