- Add cocoa powder and mix until fully incorporated, ensuring no lumps remain.
- Remove from heat and stir in oats until the mixture is thick but pliable.
- Drop spoonfuls of the cookie mixture onto a sheet lined with wax paper, shaping about 12 individual cookies.
- Place cookies in the freezer for about 20 minutes to set.
- After setting, store cookies in the refrigerator or freezer.
Notes
For best results, continuously stir over medium heat to avoid burning. Adjust sweetness with more maple syrup if desired. Wet hands when shaping cookies to prevent sticking. Cool completely before storing.
