  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (such as bell peppers, zucchini, and carrots) Keep vegetable pieces bite-sized.
Seasonings and Oils
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce For that classic hibachi flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil For cooking the steak.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil Adds a toasty finish.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced Fresh garlic for flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced Adds warmth and depth.

Method
 

Cooking the Steak
  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sirloin pieces in an even layer, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 4–5 minutes until browned.
  3. If the pan becomes crowded, cook in batches to achieve a good browning.
Flavoring
  1. Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. Stir in the mixed vegetables and cook for 3–4 minutes until they are tender but still have some bite.
Finishing Touches
  1. Pour in the soy sauce and sesame oil, stirring well to coat the steak and vegetables.
  2. Spoon the steak and vegetables over cooked fried rice.
  3. Top with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

For the best results, avoid crowding the skillet to achieve a nice browning on the steak; keep vegetables crisp-tender.
