Honey Garlic Sauce
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce Adjust for sodium preference.
  • 1/4 cup honey Provides the sticky sweetness.
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar Adds acidity to balance sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger For added flavor.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Enhances the sauce depth.
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil For aromatic flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes Optional for heat.
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons cold water (slurry) To thicken the glaze.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes to make a smooth sauce.
  3. On the prepared baking sheet, toss chicken cubes and broccoli florets with olive oil until lightly coated.
Baking
  1. Pour half of the honey garlic sauce over the chicken and broccoli. Toss to coat and spread into a single layer.
  2. Bake for 15 minutes, until chicken is opaque and broccoli is bright.
  3. Simmer the remaining sauce in a saucepan over medium heat, whisk in the cornstarch slurry, and thicken slightly for about 1 minute.
  4. Drizzle the thickened sauce over the chicken and broccoli, gently toss to coat and return to oven for an additional 5-8 minutes until chicken is cooked through and broccoli is tender-crisp.
Serving
  1. Serve immediately over cooked rice or noodles and garnish with sesame seeds.

Notes

For best results, avoid crowding the pan to ensure broccoli gets roasted edges. Use an air fryer for reheating to restore crispness.
