Ingredients
Method
- In a mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour, water, 2 tablespoons olive oil, and garlic powder, and stir until a soft dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 1 to 2 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Shape the dough into a log, then cut into 8 equal pieces.
- Flatten each piece into a round about 0.25 inch thick, using your hands or a rolling pin.
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F.
- Place several flatbreads in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving a little space between each piece.
- Air fry for 4 minutes, then flip each flatbread and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes until puffed and golden brown in spots.
- In a small bowl, mix the remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil with the chopped fresh garlic and herbs.
- Brush or drizzle the hot flatbreads with the garlic herb oil as soon as they come out of the air fryer.
- Repeat with remaining dough, then serve the garlic flatbreads warm.
Notes
- If the dough feels too dry while mixing, add 1 teaspoon water at a time until it comes together smoothly.
- If using all-purpose flour instead of self-rising, whisk 2 cups all-purpose flour with 3 teaspoons baking powder and 0.5 teaspoon salt before adding the liquids.
