Ingredients

For the Beef
  • 1 lb Ground Beef (80/20 blend for best taste) A little fat helps to retain juiciness.
  • 3 tbsp Soy Sauce (or tamari for gluten-free) Brings the salty backbone.
  • 2 tbsp Brown Sugar Balances saltiness with sweetness.
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil Adds a nutty aroma.
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced, fresh is best)
  • 1 tsp Ginger (grated, fresh enhances taste)
  • 1 tsp Red Pepper Flakes Adjust based on heat preference.
  • 2 pcs Green Onions (sliced)
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds (optional)
For the Bowl
  • 2 cups Cooked Rice (white or brown)
  • 1 cup Broccoli Florets (optional) Can swap for other veggies.

Method

Preparation
  1. Mix the sauce in a small bowl by stirring together the soy sauce (or tamari), brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes until it looks glossy and aromatic.
  2. Put the ground beef in a mixing bowl and pour the sauce over it. Gently mix with a fork or clean hands until evenly distributed; do not overwork into a paste.
Cooking
  1. Spread the seasoned beef in your air fryer basket in an even layer. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through, stirring if necessary.
  2. (Optional) If using broccoli, add it to the air fryer until crisp-tender. If the basket is crowded, cook the broccoli in a separate batch.
  3. Prepare the bowls by dividing cooked rice among serving bowls, then top with the cooked beef and broccoli.
  4. Finish by sprinkling sliced green onions and sesame seeds on top. Serve immediately.

Notes

To maintain texture, serve beef over rice right away; store rice and beef separately when refrigerating to prevent sogginess. Reheat beef in a single layer for best results.
