Simple Caramel Apple Pie Bombs

Ingredients
  

For the filling
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and diced Use any medium apples you like, but dice them evenly.
  • 1 cup brown sugar Coat apples thoroughly for flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Add more for a stronger spice note.
  • 1 tablespoon flour Helps thicken the filling.
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce Drizzle a little over the apples.
For the dough
  • 1 can crescent roll dough Keep the dough cold for easier handling.
  • Butter for greasing To grease the baking sheet or air fryer basket.
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional) For a polished finish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking sheet with butter.
  2. In a bowl, toss the diced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and flour until evenly coated.
  3. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into triangles.
Assembly
  1. Place a spoonful of the apple mixture at the wide end of each triangle, then drizzle a little caramel sauce.
  2. Roll the dough up around the filling and pinch the sides and seams closed.
Cooking
  1. Place the bombs on the prepared baking sheet with space between them.
  2. Bake for 15–20 minutes, until golden brown and the seams look set.
  3. Drizzle with more caramel sauce and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Serving
  1. Serve warm, best enjoyed when the centers are gooey and the outsides are crisp.

Notes

If prepping ahead, mix the apple filling first. Store leftovers in the fridge. Reheat in the air fryer for best results.
